Shady Spring Community Outreach Programs
Shady Spring Elementary strives to support our families as they experience various needs. We have a resource called “The Pantry” which is an outreach program of The Community Christian Church (CCC) in White Marsh. Any families in need of food can contact The Pantry and set up a time to meet at their distribution center to pick up food supplies for their family. THIS IS A FREE program which families can use up to six times a year.
All Pantry services are provided by appointment only. Appointments are scheduled by phone or email. 410-335-5940 (leave a message on the answering machine) or email [email protected] . Someone will contact you within approx. 24-72 hours of receipt of message to schedule your appointment. Photo identification must be presented at time of service.

If you could use some help with food, please contact CCC using either the email or phone number above. They will contact you and set up a time for you to pick up the food. The location of The Pantry is also included above. If you are currently not experiencing a need for food for your family, please file this information for future reference or share it with someone you know who may need this resource. COATS FOR KIDS 
A local business helps us each year to get gently used coats for students when the weather gets cold. A flyer is sent home in October and parents can contact Mrs. Carver to have their children placed on the list. These coats are distributed in early December. Children needing coats later in the winter can be helped if their parents contact Mrs. Carver with sizes. If you have any questions, you can contact Mrs. Carver at 410-887-0509 or [email protected].
HOLIDAY HELP
Thanksgiving: 
Each year we are able to help a limited number of families with a food basket for Thanksgiving. Families that need this assistance need to contact Mrs. Carver before November in order to get on the list. Some families are also contacted based on staff recommendation. Christmas: 
For the past several years, The Community Christian Church (CCC) in White Marsh has “adopted” children for Christmas gifts. These gifts are brought to Shady Spring and parents pick them up the week before Christmas. We usually also have a company that volunteers to buy gifts for several families, as well as other caring individuals that offer their assistance. We have been very privileged to offer this support for many years but none of these resources are guaranteed each year. Parents in need of help for their children for the holidays can contact Mrs. Carver, and teachers also give Mrs. Carver names of families to be contacted that might need assistance. All spots are usually filled by the beginning of November. WE CAN NOT HELP EVERY FAMILY DUE TO THE NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY.
